Decent value for saffron

I was looking for some saffron but didn't want to overspend. I saw Zaffrus had an offer for signing up for their newsletter, which saved me 10% on my first order of Organic Saffron Powder. Shipping was also free because my order was over $50. I felt like I got a good deal for what I paid. The powder seems fresh enough. It definitely felt worth the purchase for me, especially with the discount.

Good quality, quick delivery

I ordered the Premium Persian Saffron threads last week. The website was easy enough to navigate, though finding detailed information on sourcing took a minute. My order shipped out the next day and arrived in 4 days, which was faster than I expected for standard shipping to California. The saffron itself is vibrant, with a strong aroma. I used it in a paella, and the flavor was excellent. I had a quick question about storage, so I used their online chat, and the person was helpful. No complaints about the quality of the product or the service.

Saffron threads worked well

Bought the Saffron Threads. Arrived fast. Used it for risotto. Tasted good. Will buy again if needed.

Consistent quality over time

This was my third time ordering from Zaffrus, and I picked up more Saffron Infused Vinegar. Their saffron has always been reliable, and this vinegar is no different. The quality has been consistent across all my orders, which is why I keep coming back. My first order was about a year ago, and every subsequent purchase has met the same standard. It's good to know what to expect.

anyone tried the Zaffrus organic saffron powder vs just buying threads and grinding them myself? Is there a big difference in flavor or convenience?

N Nina 2 months ago

I mostly use the threads cuz I like to grind them fresh, but the powder is super convenient for baking or when you're in a rush. Flavor is still really good, just a bit less 'fresh' aroma if that makes sense.

M Marcus A. 2 months ago

The powder is great for convenience, especially for things like saffron rice where you want it distributed evenly. For something like risotto where you want to infuse it, the threads are probably better. Both are good quality though.

hey, was looking at Zaffrus saffron for a paella. anyone know if their stuff is legit? or just like, super marked up grocery store quality?

D Derek 2 months ago

It's definitely authentic, they talk about their sourcing a lot on their site and it's totally different from what you get at a regular supermarket. Way better flavor.

C Cody 2 months ago

Yeah, I've ordered from them a few times. The threads are super vibrant and the aroma is really strong. You can tell it's the real deal, not that fake dyed stuff.

Thinking of trying Zaffrus for the first time. Do they usually have a discount for new customers or something? Trying to save a few bucks.

G Greg A. 2 months ago

i think they usually do a 10-15% off for signing up for their newsletter. just pop your email in and check.

R Rosa Reyes 2 months ago

Yep, I got a code for my first order when I signed up. It's usually like 10% or 15% off, not huge but every little bit helps with saffron.

What's the return policy like if I order a saffron gift set and it's not what I expected? Easy or a pain?

R Renee F. 3 months ago

I returned a different product once, it was pretty straightforward. Just contact their support and they'll guide you through it. Not a hassle at all.

E Elena Silva 3 months ago

Yeah, returns were easy. I had to send back an order because I accidentally got the wrong thing and they sorted it out quickly.

how long does zaffrus shipping usually take? need some saffron for a recipe next weekend, wondering if it'll get to NYC in time.

D Derek T. 2 months ago

Mine arrived pretty quick to Cali, like 3-4 days maybe? I think they ship from the US.

A Anna G. 2 months ago

It's usually pretty standard, like a week max to the East Coast from what I remember. If you order soon you should be fine, especially if you hit the free shipping threshold.
